In contrast, the crystal clear waters of the Red Sea are awash with bright coral and make the perfect place for a spot of rest and recuperation.
Dubai is a popular holiday destination year round but if you fancy sampling old Arabia as well as soaking up some winter sunshine them Oman could be the perfect destination for you. With over 2,700km of beautiful, empty sandy beaches it is easy to see the appeal if sunshine is what you’re after.
There are also plenty of medieval towns to explore, so you can brush up your history knowledge and get a tan at the same time.
If the thought of a long distance flight doesn’t faze you then explore options in the Caribbean, South America and Asia. St Lucia is renowned as the prettiest and friendliest of the larger Caribbean islands. Goa in India is an ever popular choice whereas Cuba offers something a little different again.
